The Uniforms of LSU Baseball

The eight combinations that the Tigers will wear in 2017, including a special throwback.

GAME ONE AT HOME

The white jerseys and white pants is the cleanest look for the Tigers. The jerseys feature the LSU interlock logo on the left chest as well as the Southeastern Conference logo on the right sleeve and American flag on the left sleeve. In addition to the updates, the jersey and pants are both Nike Vapor Elite style.

The team will wear this uniform combination during opening nights of a home series.

Junior Alex Lange is one of the top pitchers in the country heading into 2017.

GAME TWO AT HOME

This combination also features the update Nike Vapor Elite jerseys and pants. This combination was worn during the 1997 championship game when the Tigers defeated Alabama, 13-6.

The team wears this uniform combination during the second game of a series at home.

Junior Michael Papierski has earned the spot at catcher and owns an outstanding arm behind the plate.

Game Three & Championship Games

One of the most notable traditions for the LSU Baseball program is the “Championship Gold” jerseys. Every team since 1996 has worn the gold jerseys, which debuted during the first game of the 1996 NCAA Regional against Austin Peay.

The 1996 team wore the now famed gold jerseys in all but one of its eight NCAA postseason games. The Tigers used the championship gold in their final game in Omaha against Miami. Warren Morris hit a walk-off home run to lift LSU to its third national championship.

During the 2008 season, LSU made a historic run in the final stretch of the year with a 23-game win streak. The team used the “magic” from the 1996 team and wore gold jerseys through a majority of the streak.

The 2009 team wore gold in game three of the national championship series, an 11-4 win over Texas. It was the program’s sixth national championship.

The team will wear gold in game three of a home and road series as well as anytime it plays for a championship during postseason play.

The baseball camo hats with the interlock logo will be worn during LSU's games against Air Force and Army on opening weekend.

The Tigers will continue wearing their tradition purple hats with the interlock LSU logo

Midweek Games

The 1993 team introduced the pinstripe uniform with the Tigers script on the chest during its campaign for the program’s second national championship. The squad wore the pinstripes throughout the season, including the 8-0 victory over Wichita State in the championship game.

LSU will wear the pinstripe uniform during midweek games in 2017.

Junior Greg Deichmann was named the Most Oustanding Player for the 2016 NCAA Baton Rouge Regional.

AWAY GAMES

The road jerseys received an update similar to the white and gold with the updated Nike Vapor Elite style. The SEC logo was also moved to the right arm on the jersey.

The purple jerseys and grey pants will be worn during road games.

Pitcher Hunter Newman returns to Baton Rouge as one of the top relievers in the country.

ROAD GAMES AND SELECT HOME GAMES

This is the third combination with the popular purple jersey with Tigers across the chest. The purple jersey and pinstripe pant will be worn for road games and select game twos of a series.

Senior Jared Poche' enters the 2017 season just 11 wins shy of tying the LSU career record for victories.

MIDWEEK AWAY AND GAME ONE AWAY

Both the jerseys and pants received an update to Nike Vapor Elite style. The gray is similar to the white jerseys with the SEC logo on the right sleeve, the player’s number on the right chest and the interlock logo on the left chest. The 1991 squad, which won the program’s first national championship, wore this combination in the 6-3 win over Wichita State.

The Tigers will only wear gray jerseys and gray pants during midweek away games and game one of a series on the road.

Baton Rouge native Russell Reynolds is a valuable member of the Tigers' bullpen staff.

ThrowBack uniform - March 28 vs. Tulane

LSU has worn throwback jerseys multiple times over the years. The first time came in 1993 during the original "Turn Back the Clock" game against Tulane at the Old Alex Box Stadium. Players from both teams wore old-fashioned uniforms and used wooden bats. The Tigers defeated the Green Wave, 6-3, in a game which commemorated LSU's 100-year baseball history.

LSU wore these uniforms on March 19, 2008 against Tulane during "Throwback Night". The uniforms were designed to commemorate LSU’s final season in historic Alex Box Stadium, which opened in 1938. The new throwback jersey and pants are both Nike Vapor Elite.

The 2017 squad will wear the throwback uniforms for the second "Turn Back the Clock" game on March 28 against Tulane.

Senior Kramer Robertson found his home at shortstop in 2016 and went on to earn All-America and All-SEC honors.

LSU wore these uniforms on March 19, 2008 against Tulane during "Throwback Night".

The 2017 squad includes from left to right: Cole Freeman, Alex Lange, Michael Papierski, Russell Reynolds, Greg Deichmann, Jared Poche, Kramer Robertson and Hunter Newman.
